On Wednesday, November 4, the Train 2 Reach steering committee met for the first time, at the Byrd EDU Tech Center and by video.

The committee brings together educators, community leaders and partners from Navasota ISD, the Navasota EDC, local media, Texas A&M University and the community.

Before the renovations begin, members walked every room of the building with us: the classrooms, the labs, the stage and the café where Navasota's students will learn, build and share a meal.

Members shared practical ideas on reaching families across Navasota and showing them what the Tech Center will offer, and we're already putting those ideas to work.

What's next: we are preparing for the renovations now, and the Tech Center opens in December. The committee meets quarterly, and we look forward to the next meeting.

Thank you to every member for your time and your ideas.
